We at Regional Health Systems are committed to serving the needs of our Northwest Indiana communities. As a non-profit, community mental health center and federally qualified health center, our purpose is to provide affordable care to all people, regardless of age, income or circumstance.
In other words, we’re here for you and your family for all seasons of life. Whether you’re looking for an affordable family doctor, dentist, counselor, psychiatrist, addictions services or family social services, we’re here to help you.
Regional Health Systems operates a community mental health center (formerly Regional Mental Health Center) and a federally qualified health center (formerly Regional Health Clinic).
Regional Health Systems, through its federally qualified health center (FQHC), receives federal funding through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and has federal public health service deemed status with respect to certain health and health-related claims—including medical malpractice for the FQHC and its covered employees.
Our story first began 50 years ago, with two community mental health centers (CMHCs) providing outpatient behavioral health services to Hoosiers in Hammond and Merrillville. Over time, we expanded our focus to include substance abuse and residential treatment, and eventually partnered to combine administrative services.
The changes didn’t stop there. The CMHCs, after combining administrative services, became the Regional Mental Health Center. To address the physical disparities of our mental health clients, we became the first community mental health center in Indiana to open a federally qualified health center (FQHC)—offering affordable access to quality medical and dental care.
Despite these transitions, we have remained committed to treating the whole person each and every day. One thing’s for certain: You’ve come to the right place for access to quality mental health, medical and dental care.
Every journey begins with a single step and yours begins here.
